Portrait of Armagh

09th February 2010

This month's issue of Ulster Tatler reviewed my book- Portrait of Armagh. More to come on that later on..

This is the cover image, showing Armagh City as seen from the countryside to the southwest.

The book is priced at £14.99 and can be bought from me at http://ireland.photium.com/otheritems.html or from Amazon, Waterstones and a host of other online bookstores.

If you have an interest in Ireland, Northern Ireland or specifically the County of Armagh then this is the book for you. With over 140 images of this rural county, from farming life to architecture and packed with information on the locations featured this is the perfect book to give for Christmas, birthdays or just to have in your own collection.

Those with a knowledge of Armagh will recognise some of the main sights such as Navan Fort or Emain Mhacha, Armagh City and its two cathedrals both dedicated to St. Patrick, and Newry, part of which lies in Co. Armagh.

Visitors to Northern Ireland mostly pass by the stunning South Armagh landscape when travelling from Dublin to Newry or on to Belfast and the Giant’s Causeway. What lies within a few miles of the fast Dublin-Newry road is some of the most stunning scenery in Ireland - the Ring of Gullion is the best preserved example of a ring dyke in Ireland or Britain. Containing many archaeological features and some early christian monuments the area is definitely worth a visit.
